We arrived yesterday, used back roads to get here and avoided all the traffic, textbook entry (Lynn. an Englsigh joke)) Tom and I spent 5 hours or so wandering around taking pics of things… Bumped into Steph Edwards which was lovely. From this evening there will be a gallery going up on NME.com - check back all weekend as it’s going to be updated constantly (or atleast that’s the plan). also, follow me on twitter if you wanna know what I’m upto over the weekend… www.twitter.com/dannynorthphoto View BIG!
Tom Martin is here shooting for the NME too… www.flickr.com/photos/tmoose/3659868858/
PS. Just been interviewed for BBC Radio2 - The Nations Playlist, Saturday 10pm. Have a listen if your home or in a car! I got to choose a track and talk about it!

I’ve had a bit of an exciting day, which culminated in joining Oasis on stage for the first 2 songs of the set. This is one that I’ve arranged myself. Working with Terri Hall is an absolute pleasure, she’s a diamond. Terri is Oasis’ PR. Terri, the band and the label loved the NME cover from last week, so I figured it wouldn’t be a bad idea asking them if I can come shoot it again, only this time for Spin (massive big up to Gavin @Spin for being ace). The label and band asked me if I fancied getting up onstage for the first 2 songs!
So yeah, bit of a buzz getting up on stage with the biggest band in the UK. I know I shot Metallica on stage but for some reason this felt more nerve racking. Having just 2 songs, it flew by soooo quickly, but having that second song really really helped (it was to be 1 song originally).
I thought I’d be literally side of stage, but Noel wanted me next to the drums/behind the amps, which was a totally sweet spot. Good on him.
Not sure when I’ll publish these online, I think I might save em for the new website.

We shot this is Laura’s bedroom, on my Polaroid SX-70 along with a ton of Kodak portra 800, and a few D3 snaps.
Taken sometime back in March, the day before I went to SXSW I think…
I love shooting Laura, very photogenic!
If y’all love me a bit of Polaroid action, check out DarkDaze - hmmmmmmmmm

I was invited down to the soundcheck with Oasis yesterday, I have to say it was pretty cool listening to them run through some classics with practically no one there. Heading back today to shoot the whole thing, Twisted Wheel, The Enemy, Kasabian, and Oasis. Having just spent 2 days with Twisted Wheel in sweaty little venues, I’m looking forward to seeing em out on the MASSIVE stage. Can’t wait to catch up with the Enemy too, ain’t seen the lads for ages. And this will be my Kasabian cheery being popped. Looking forward to it.
Check the pics in next weeks NME…

A revisit to Download 2 years ago brings back so many good memory’s. Iron Maiden, Enter Shikari, Gallows, all preformed amazing gigs. this is a shot I first ignored and thus forgot about. But I figured why not give it an airing…
In just over a week I’ll be heading off to my 4th Download in a row, it’s kinda becoming an annual pilgrimage.
